Ms. Maria Bell selected as assistant principal at M.C. Perry Primary

Dr. Jacqueline Ferguson, DoDEA Pacific East District Superintendent, is pleased to announce the selection of Ms. Maria Bell as assistant principal of M.C. Perry Primary School, located at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan.
Ms. Maria Bell is an experienced educator with a specialized background in early childhood education. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education with a specialization in pre-kindergarten through second grade and a mathematics endorsement. Additionally, she earned a master’s degree in Mathematics Education from Western Governors University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University.
Ms. Bell began her career as a kindergarten teacher before moving on to teach second and fifth grades in her home state of Georgia. Beyond classroom instruction her roles included Grade Level Chair, District Curriculum Development Team Lead, Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) Coach, Technology Coach, and STEM Director. She joined DoDEA in 2019 when her career took her to Baumholder, Germany, where she served as a Math Coach and Continuous School Improvement Chair at Smith Elementary. Ms. Bell joined the Europe Central ISS team in 2022 as an Elementary Instructional Systems Specialist.
Passionate about early childhood education and supporting military-connected children and their families, Ms. Bell is committed to supporting a nurturing and effective learning environment where students are excited to learn, and teachers are excited to teach. Ms. Bell is excited to join the Pacific East District at M.C. Perry Primary as the assistant principal, where she looks forward to contributing to the school’s mission and supporting its students, staff, and families. She will be joined by her husband and teenage son.
